bladder problems post c-section Posted: 01-29-08 11:54am
I'm at my wits end.. please any advice
appreciated!
I had my second child by c-section 4
months ago. It was my second c-section but
this time was planned. I have long history
of UTI's but don't get them that often but
only from time to time. I had no problems
after my first c-section but this time
it's been hell! they cut a new scar as
they said the old scar was too small.
My c-section wound has not healed well and
even now 4 months on it's still bleeding
although i've been on at least 5 courses
of antibotics.. i'm using maluka honey now
so hopefully that will help.
Since my c-section I've had, what I
thought was cystitus.. but it just won't
go away. many many courses of antibitics,
urine tests (which sometimes showed
cystitus but mostly came back
inconclusive), ural sashays you drink and
lots of cranberry juice and tables made no
differences it it. It just will not go
away! It's a burning, needing to pee all
the time (busting to pee really). I feel
horrible, sick and run down when it's bad.
I can feel it coming on and actualy i'm
starting to notice that when i'm
consipated every 3 or 4 days into th week
it starts up then. mostly it oddly appears
with regularity at 2pm in the afternoon
and goes through till 9pm when it
disapears. when it's bad, like it is
today, it starts very early in the morning
and wakes me up and goes all day - i can't
move for fear of peeing myself and feel so
bad i can't move most of the day at all
but just want to sit still so i don't pee
myself.
last dr I saw said it was just an
irritation in the bladder from the surgery
and it would go away with time. One dr
mentioned something about the bladder
accidentaly being nicked or cut during
surgery and other said something about the
bowel pressing against the bladder or
something protroding into the bladder
(which would explain the constipation
connection). I just don't know what to do.
last dr at the hospital was more concerned
with my c-section scar and getting it to
heal with the honey etc.. but i just can't
get any answer or help re the bladder
problem. I can't go on like this. I have
two small children under 3 to care for and
don't have time to feel like this.. please
any advice (please don't say cranberry
juice it just doesn't make any
difference).

It sounds like you need to have a cysto
done to look into the bladder and see what
is happening there. Have any doctors
recommended doing this?
Have you tried a urologist for a fresh
look at what is going on?
I know it's tough with little ones to keep
going to doctors and feeling lousy, I wish
I had an easy answer for you.

what's a cysto done? I keep telling the
dr's and even the surgen on monday i
mentioned the bladder problem again but
they said it's normal to have some
irritation etc.. i have to go back again
in 3 weeks so will demand to see a
urologist then if it's still going - which
i fully expect.

Hi
A cysto is a cytoscopy which is when they
look into the bladder going in through the
urethra with a small scope to view the
bladder, ureter tubes and sometimes inject
a dye which can give them views of the
kidneys also using an x-ray machine to
take pictures during this procedure. Some
also call is a ureteroscope.
Have they tried you on medication such as
Ditropan?
Have they mention the possibility of IC
(Interstitial cystitis) which is a painful
bladder syndrome?
