hiatal hernia and gluten free diet Posted: 01-29-08 12:37pm
first I am sorry so long but its a
detailed story, and second I am sorry if
this is the wrong forum, I figured I'd
give it a shot here. thank you to anyone
who can help...
ok.. my boyfriend is 21 goin on 22 years
old. he smokes close to two packs a day,
drinks alcohol on a daily basis (I'll get
to that), eats super unhealthy, works on
houses but thats bout all the excersise he
gets.
about a month and half ago, he went into
the hospital. he had a horrible stabbing
pain in his stomach and basically all over
his body. he was in the hospital for a
week they ran tests did a colonoscopy, and
down the throat tube thing, and fuond he
had a hiatic hernia (sp?).
the doctors told him he MUST NOT drink ANY
beer at all unless gluton free. he had to
be aon a gluton free diet. noooo beer.
which is his huge problem. he was a case a
nite guy. I know he has a drinkin prob but
to him its not a prob its just a hobby wit
his friends.
well he did good for a while not drinkin
beer for a few weeks and eatin gluton
free. I was so proud of him. to cure his
need for a drink he found out he could
drink rum it has no gluton so he was doin
that instead.
but then he went back to the beer and he
is eating bad again. and I am so afraid of
him goin back to the hospital.
he drinks every nite crazy style with his
friends, he's always smokin, he eats fast
food all the time, he has serious
heartburn problems and now this gluton
problem whcih could really hurt him.
my question is how do I get thru to him?
he will prob just yell at me for harping
him if I tell him how worried I am i dont
want to seem like a mom... but I am
worried. his mom knows he is doin all this
we cant control him. I want to scare him
into it or something... anyone have any
advice as to how to get thru to a 21 year
old stubborn boy's mind??.... any help..
and sorry if Isound like an annoying whiny
girlfriend, I Am super worried. when he
was in the hospital it was so scary how
much pain he was in. you'd think he'd have
been scared too...
