post ventral hernia repair with large piece of mesh Posted: 01-30-08 08:45am
Six weeks ago I underwent open surgery to
repair multiple ventral hernias. The
surgery required the use of a large piece
of mesh. Three weeks post-op i began to
experience burning sensation and
occassional stabbing pain in areas where
mesh was tacked down. When I told my
doctor about it, he seemed unconcerned,
and said it was normal. Three weeks later
the pain continues and is still quite
severe with no sign of abating.
Has anyone else had this type of surgery
and experienced the same pain?
And, if it is normal, can you tell me how
long it lasts?
I am greatly concerned about this and have
been unable to get any satisfactory
answers from the doctors.
Any information you can give me will be
greatly appreciated.
