Abortion, pregnant and abnormal smear Posted: 01-30-08 08:45am
Im new here. i apologise if this is
confusing (and long) but need some
advice.
I have 3 children already. Boy 3 and twins
almost 2.
Last August i had a medical abortion as we
couldnt finacially afford another child.
I have recently found out that im pregnant
again (unplanned) and my partner feels
that another abortion is the way to go. W
e are also due to get married soon so if i
did go ahead with the pregnancy we would
have to cancel the wedding etc.
Anyway, after alot of consideration i
decided that i would have another abortion
and im due to go for my consultation on
friday (i will be about 7 weeks)
THEN..... this morning i recieved my smear
test results which i had in december, and
it says i need to go for a colposcopy and
maybe need treatment on the cervix.
I am now really worried that having 2
abortions and then a colposcopy so close
together will do damage to my cervix and
future fertilty as i would like a fourth
child in the future when we can finacially
support another one and the other children
are older.
Im so confused and scared

ABORTION does not 'damage' your cervix
when performed properly.
'Incompetent cervix' can happen to anyone,
even women who have never been pregnant.
TO be honest, surgical is technically
safer than medical, and it is faster and
painless thanks to IV sedation.
BOTH medical and surgical abortion are
safe, it is just a matter of preference as
to whether you want the abortion at home
or at the clinic.
