Sinusitis after Bronchitis!
Posted: 01-30-08 18:01pm

Hi All,

I hope you are all well. Smile My name is Louise, I'm 30 years old next week and I am mum to two daughters aged 7 and almost 3.

My problems started a week before Christmas I came down with a viral infection that was not as bad as flu but more than a cold! Over Christmas I felt low but was well enough and on the 8th January I came down with the same symptoms again but much worse, headache, sore throat, sore right ear, feeling sick, dizzy. I recovered from this but got a secondry chest infection!

I rung my doctor who wouldn't prescribe Antibiotics as although my chest was burning my mucas wasn't overly green (sorry for being graphic!) Anyway I have recovered from that thanks to Lemsip and cough medicine!

My problem now is that I have an extremely tight feeling in my nose, halfway down especially when I go outdoors, it doesn't affect me indoors, it seems to get worse when I swallow! I have cracking ears, Post Nasal Drip, temple headaches of an evening, mild tiredness and sometimes a horrible throat feeling, mild cough when outdoors when I get the Post Nasal Drip!

I don't understand why my symptoms are worse outdoors, can anyone explain? Also does this sound like sinusitis even though I don't have anything green going on? I do suffer with Cattarh and my doctor says it is heridtry, my Nan suffers as does my mum! I have an appointment at my Doctors on the 7th February and no doubt I will be given the usual Antihystemine (Telfast), Decongestant (Sudafed) and a Nasal Spray which I hate taking!

If anyone can put my mind at rest I would appreciate it!

Thank you!

Louise

Welcome to ehealthforum!

Are you experiencing pain and pressure in your face and where are the pain and tenderness usually located?
Do you have nasal discharge that contains pus?
For how long you have it and is it getting worse?

Usually, when you've had a cold that returned or got worse after 7 days (called double sickening), is more probably that you have a sinus infection rather than a cold or other upper respiratory infection.
