Immune suppressant drugs after kidney transplant Posted: 01-30-08 19:10pm
My father had had a kidney transplant for
about 5 years now. He was using Cellcept
since the surgery until recently he got
very weak, lost appetite, had frequent
diaarhea and lost a lot of weight. The
doctor said that it was the long term
usage of Cellcept that creating all these
side effects.
So they switch to Imuran but this one
really made him even more sick and his
bone marrow started to produce less white
and red blood cells. So the doctor had to
stop this drug.
Right now we don't know what else will be
good for him so far as immune suppressant
drugs. He's very weak. He's 67 years
old.
I belive my father might have had
Predisone and Progaf already too.
Does anyone have any suggestion on any
other drugs? Thank you so much!
