red discharge after miscarriage = implantation bleeding Posted: 01-30-08 19:56pm
I am new to the boards and was wondering
if anyone could shed some light on my
problem. Back in Sept. I had mid cycle
bleeding (brown and somewhat heavy) it
lasted 4-5 days, I assumed it was because
of ovulation because within the two weeks
after that we conceived. Unfortunatley we
lost our baby at the end of November. My
cycle resumed six weeks post D&C which was
Jan 11th. I am pretty sure I ovulated
somewhere around the 24th and now 6 days
later I have been having scant bright red
discharge (not enough to come close to
filling a pantyliner) and have had it for
the last 3 days. What are the chances it
is implantation bleeding and we are
pregnant again??? Or should I assume that
my cycle is off due to the miscarriage and
that this is bleeding from ovulation or
something other than pregnancy. I have
some tiredness, swollen breasts and
occassional dizziness. Any information
would be helpful.

For some people it takes a little while to
recover from a miscarriage, especially
when a D&C is done, so it's hard to
say whether you could be pregnant or not.
After my own miscarriage it took three
months for my cycle to return and I didn't
have a D&C.
It might be implantation or you could be
having a light "off" period because of
your changed hormone levels. The only way
you can be sure is to take a test.
