im 19 years old and ive always had problems with yeast infections but recently its been really bad ive had it several times and have taken over the counter medication which helped but it always came back, ive only been sexually active for a year and im not sure whats wrong with me....im freaking out because about a month ago it started huring when i urinated and once i bled a bit...i had an infection on a wisdom tooth and was prescribed antibiotics, when taking them it no longer burned when i went to the bathroom and the discharge stopped. but now its back..the discharge only; and yesterday i noticed that out of the blue it turned kind of reddish brown i dont know if this is really serious i read that brown discharge could mean cervical cancer can anyone give me some info?? i know i should probably go to the doctor but im afraid....

Many people get continued yeast infections. You need to go in to the Dr and let them know what is going on. Alot of people need prescibed medications to get over it. Sometimes the otc stuff just isn't enough. Go in to the dr your freaking yourself out!! It is probably very simple. You'll be fine!! But if you don't go in you'll never know what is going on and you'll never get over it!

If you are getting repeated yeast infection it is possible that your partner is giving it to you. This is not an STD but men can have yeast infections and pass it to their partner. The medication that is over the counter that contains miconazole in it is the medication of choice for yeast infections. About 10 years ago you could only get it with a prescription. The FDA approved miconazole for over the counter sales. Anything the doctor would prescribe will be the same thing.

This could be another type of infection. A urinary tract infection can cause intense irritation to the vaginal mucosa. Other infections can as well. You need to see a doctor. Make it a priority to go. You will feel better once you get treatment.
