Just thought it would be interesting to ask what everyones religion is, and the reason you chose it ?

i don't have a religion. I was brought up Church of England but I decided that I'm not religious. I married a (non practising) Catholic and there was so many arguments from family about getting the kids christened catholic/protestant that we decided to let them choose when they are older.

I don't want to voice my opinions on religion unless this is moved to debate foums but lets just say I will not impose my views on my kids Wink

I don't believe in God or any other deity.

We're keeping Jay out of religion until she's a little older, and then we're going to introduce her to as many as we can and let her decide what she to believe.

i was christened at the Uniting Church but i dont think i believe in all that stuff!! Seems too far fetched for me.

Stephen is an athiest so we will have a naming ceremony for Grace at some stage instead, but if she wants to be christened its totally up to her!!

I'm a Baptist. I had a Baptist preacher for a grandfather and just always followed him. Then I started going to a Baptist church with my other grandparents and ended up being baptized about 6 years ago. Still attend that church today.

I was brought up catholic.

But got reborn into nondenomintaion at 12.

I refuse to force any specific religion on my children. They can choose when they get older.

I am protestant.
I don't go to church though because where I live I haven't been able to find any church other than a catholic church.
my son can choose for himself what he wants to believe in.

i dont see how anyone with kids can believe nothing happens after life. I look at my kids and what to know I didnt birth them just so they can die. I think life and everything involved is far to complicated to just end. I dont know what all I believe but I refuse to think Im just gunna die one day and nothing comes of it.

It's easier for me, personally. The idea of some big guy creating us to put us through tests and then die for his amusement is... creepy.

(not trying to put down anyone's religion, that's just how I view God.)

I am a Baptist but that is just the name over the door of my church building. More than that I am a child of God and while some may scoff I know that I have a very real relationship with Him. I am a believer and because of that I will someday have eternal life. Also,no I did not come to this decision lightly, my parents did not force it on me, and I can not force it on my children. I can not force any person to believe like I do. God gave us all free wills to make our own decision.

I was baptized Catholic when I was in grade 8. My mom wanted me to be able to make my own choice. I do believe in some degree to a higher power but I am not a practicing catholic.

My kids go to catholic school only because it is the best school in our area. But both have not been baptized either...I want them to decide that for themselves. They learn a bit about god at school and stuff but I don't see anything wrong with them learning it, whether or not they believe it is up to them.

I am agnostic. I don't really believe in anything at all. I believe there is something out there.. But I don't know what it is, & I am not going to waste my entire life trying to find it & worship it. I live for myself, & for my son. I'm a good person for myself & my family. I do believe there is something after you die- I don't know what it is.. But the human soul is far too real & far too complex to just end.

Raised Catholic, Baptized Catholic, Switched to Nazarene as a teenager, Baptized Christian, Nazarene basically shunned me because of a game, Left Christianity for good.

Got into Wicca and LOVED it. I'm marrying a [non-practicing] Wiccan Minister. It's the best religion for me because I'm very Earthy, and I like giving back to Mother Nature. I believe there's a God, but there's a Goddess as well. Everything has a balance and everything happens for a reason.

Lilly, I am a very firm believer in that.
Everything happens for a reason.

I'm with you 100%. I was actually baptized as Catholic when I was 10, and attended Catholic school through high school. But I don't follow the religion (I'm not sure I ever really did) and I will let my children decide for themselves what they want to believe. I hate when people try to push their religion on others.

Like Lilly, I have been a Wiccan for 8 years. I pray to The Goddess, and The God. I have absolute respect for life, creation and nature. I also believe that death occurs just before rebirth ^^. My oldest son often attends Baptist church with my parents, and I'm perfectly fine with that. Every belief is correct in my eyes and I firmly believe that we all worship the same higher power, just in different ways.

Can you please not refer to something you think is stupid as "gay".

I'm sick of ignorant people.

Maybe she meant happy? Please don't resort to name calling. All it does it cause unwanted drama.
