pregnancy after 2 miscarriages Posted: 01-31-08 20:21pm
I have had 2 miscarriages in a row last
year and we currently trying again for the
first time since. My last miscarriages was
in Nov. we have waited 2 cycles as the
doctor recommended. They have done a
thyroid test and it was normal and I am
currently taking prenatals, baby aspirin,
and prometium after ovulation. Has anyone
had a successful pregnancy after 2
miscarriages in a row? If so what did you
do differently? What do you think my
chances are of having a successful
pregnancy? Thanks everyone!

I had 3 miscarriages before carrying a
healthy pregnancy. I think that you
should ask to be tested for genetic
problems, because this is whats wrong with
me. I have a trisomy 14, which means that
I give the baby 2 14th chromosomes instead
of 1. So the baby has 3 instead of 2 (2
from me and 1 from dad) BUT, In a healthy
pregnancy the body realizes that something
is wrong and kicks out one of the extra
chromosomes. 99.5% of the time it is the
extra maternal and .5% it is the fraternal
which, if this happens results in a
chromosome malfunction with the baby and
causes part of the brain to not develop.
So my pregnancy does carry a few risks,
but it has a 99.5% chance that my baby
will be perfectly healthy. I am currently
18 weeks 5 days. Dont give up! My
previous doctor flat out told me I wouldnt
be able to have a baby without getting
IVF, Obviously I proved her wrong. Keep
trying and try to get some testing done.
Its a good sign that you can get pregnant!
I hope everything works out!

2 miscarriages and pregnant Posted: 06-24-08 12:23pm
I have had 2 recent miscarriages at 6weeks
and am currently 4 weeks pregnant. With
all 3 I have had spotting about 2 days
before my period should start that lasts
about 4-5 days and is a dark brown color.
This time I am on progesterone but still
spotting. I will pray for all of you.
Please pray for me. I hope I keep this
one, but the spotting is just as before.
With the first we did see a heartbeat at
6weeks but then miscarried and with the
last one my hcg levels rose normally until
6weeks then US confirmed no heartbeat. I
don't know what else to do but wait and I
guess start testing if this one ends in
miscarriage.

Update
Well ladies I actually did not miscarry.
We did find a heartbeat at 7 1/2 weeks and
I am currently 25 weeks pregnant with a
baby boy. I was so sure that I had
miscarried after all that bleeding. I want
to thank you so much for sharing your
stories with me. It means a lot. I will
pray that you bring your little miracles
in the world soon.

Thanks! I just want to say never give up
hope! I know it's an incredibly draining
physically as well as emotionally but when
you do get your little miracle you realize
that it was all worth it! Many thoughts
and prayers to you all. May you all have
your blessings very soon.

Congrats on your pregnancy!
My friend had about 6-7 miscarriages (none
got past 8wk) before she finally carried
to term. She now has a healthy 15mo old
girl and is expecting number two in
October.
Good Luck!

THANK YOU! Shawano, Wisconsin, USA (3 mc before healthy pg) Posted: 07-24-08 11:51am
I have been going crazy the past two
days!!! Not until your finding your post
this morning have I had any hope. I have
had 3 mc's as well and was able to do
testing on my second baby (12 wks). They
found it was due to trisomy 14 (the ob
later told me that this is almost always
inherited and either my husband or I, or
both, must have it) and all the
information out there looks so bleak. I
have been speaking with my ob's nurses and
the tone they've been using has been one
of extreme sympathy. One of them actually
said the reason I'm being sent to a
geneticist is because they don't want me
to keep trying if there's no reason to.
(Yes, she also added that we're not there
yet). But, gosh, I've just been so upset
thinking I may never be able to have
children. And my husband already has a
little girl, so I've been thinking it's me
with the problem. Anyhow, I have no idea
what my future has in store, but I really
am grateful that someone out there has a
positive outcome.
Thanks so much!! Good luck with the rest
of your pregnancy!
