Current medical treatment: i had a
operation on my ankle they fixed my fibula
that was broken. they but 7 screws and
aplate. i just had my cast off yesterday.
i foot feels pain from the muscles very
tight. i am not able to walk veryfar. i
have been doing the exercies at home.
The soft tissues, or muscles, around the
fibula need some time to recover.
Prolonged muscle inactivity, due to
immobilization of the broken bone, usually
causes atrophy or tightness of the muscle.
Physical therapy exercises can help you
overcome tight or atrophied muscles.
Furthermore, the pain that you are
experiencing is most likely due to soft
tissue injury and also requires time to
heal; after time, the pain will probably
disappear. If the broken bone has been
treated properly (proper reposition and
fixation), there is nothing to worry
about. Nonetheless, you can request a
control X-ray image to evaluate the
fracture. For further information, you
can consult an orthopedist about the
condition and to further evaluate the
broken fibula.
