I've tried to find the answer to my
question online but couldn't find the info
anywhere. I just finished my 2nd month on
the nuvaring for birth control. It's now
out for a week. I have a new ring to use
next week but I left it out of
refridgeration for an extended period of
time - probably about 10 hours. It was at
room temperature, about 68 degrees.
Can someone please tell me - Is it still a
safe & effective means of birth
control even though it's been
unrefidgerated? I don't want to get
pregnant!

It's OK. You don't have to refrigerate the
Nuva Ring It should still be
just fine. You can store it in any cool
place.

You only need to refrigerate if it's going
to be a long period of time. Like if you
get 3 months at a time, you need to stick
the other 2 in the fridge. You should be
just fine!

I got the three month and they said I
could keep it in a cool dry place.

Well then listen to your doctor, not a
stranger on a forum. Normally, doctors are
right.

Yes a cool dry place is just as good. I
work in a pharmacy we have to keep it in
the fridge. Some dr's tell their patients
one or the other. It just can't get too
hot or it does lose it's medication and is
not as effective. I was only trying to
answer inlove83's question the way she
asked it She must have been
told to put it in the fridge since she was
worried about it.

They need to keep it in a fridge at the
pharmacy- but once you bring it home, you
can keep it wherever you want. Just not
above the stove or some place stupid.
