YOU WROTE:
Current medical status: been trying to
conceive with my current partner for 20
mths, i have a 7 year old daughter
previous relationship. my former partner
cheated on me and gave me chylamidia
however i wasnt daiagnosed until jan 06 so
i could of had it for four years without
knowing anyway so i was treated for that
and everything was ok until my current
patner and i started trying for a baby
without success since june 06
A chlamydia infection can cause blockage
of the fallopian tubes if not detected and
treated on time. Fallopian tube blockage
prevents spermatozoid and egg-cell
movement and causes sterility. In addition
to the most severe consequences such as
sterility, 50% of all cases of Chlamydia
infection manifest very mild symptoms or
no symptoms at all. In such cases,
sterility can be the first sign of
infection. The tubes’ passage can be
checked using hystero-salpingo-graphy
(HSG) or laparoscopy/hysteroscopy. If both
tubes are blocked, “in vitro”
fertilization is the sole way you can get
pregnant. You can consult a gynecologist
about this problem and to request the
necessary diagnostics.
