I am lactating and I have missed a period.
But I have always been irregular. Could I
be pregnant? I also went thru FSH
Treatments since I have PCOS. I had a
miscarriage on Oct.5 and did another
treatment on Nov.5 and it came out
negative on the 27th. Then I got a period
on Dec. 28 and have not gotten once since.
I did test for LH surge on the 24th of
January and it was positive which it's the
first time ever being positve? What could
be happening with my body?

Lack of the menstrual period is the first
sign of pregnancy ... but a missed period
is also one of the symptoms of PCOS.
Therefore, you SHOULD perform a pregnancy
test to confirm or exclude pregnancy.
Your symptoms (sterility, irregular
periods, lack of periods, miscarriage,
overweight) are typical for polycystic
ovarian syndrome (PCOS). PCOS is an
endocrine disorder wherein the hormonal
axis hypothalamus-pituitary-ovaries is
disturbed. LH-levels are increased and
FSH-levels decreased.
The etiology of PCOS is still unknown but
it is believed that the basic disorder is
caused by increased levels of INSULIN due
to insulin resistance. That’s why an
anti-diabetic drug (Metformine) is also
used for treatment. You can seek help by
setting up an appointment with your
gynecologist and request screening for
PCOS.
