Chlamidiasis is a sexually transmitted
disease caused by Chlamydia trachomatis.
Chlamidiasis causes inflammation of the
genital-urinary tract. The infection
starts from the cervix and urethra and
spreads up to the uterus and the fallopian
tubes. If not discovered and treated on
time, a Chlamydia infection can cause
obliteration of the tubes and cause
sterility. Unfortunately, a Chlamydia
infection usually shows no symptoms at all
or very mild symptoms. In many cases,
sterility is the first symptom of a
Chlamydia infection. Furthermore, a
Chlamydia infection during pregnancy can
cause premature birth. You are lucky that
you have succeeded in conceiving a child.
An ectopic pregnancy is diagnosed when the
pregnancy test is positive but an embryo
can’t be found in the uterus. Fallopian
tubes that are not completely obliterated
but are damaged by an infection can be the
reason for ectopic pregnancies. An ectopic
pregnancy could be a life threatening
condition if not discovered and treated on
time.
You can consult your gynecologist about
the situation to seek medical advice and
help.
