I'm trying to find something to get my
best friend for her little boy. She's
scheduled for her c-section on March 5th
so I still have a little time yet but I
like having things done ahead of time.
She's all set on clothes, she said she
mainly just needs little things, like
diapers/wipes/baby bath/lotions/butt
cream.. That kinda stuff.. Sooo I'm
thinking I might try making her a diaper
cake!
Has anyone ever made one of these? Or does
anyone know how to?
I wasn't sure if you pin the diapers
together somehow or what..
Here's the picture of one that I'd like to
do :
It's on Amazon, it says it includes 55
diapers, a cozy fleece blankie, the Take
Along kit, and larger sizes of Johnson's
baby oil and rash ointment.

That's really cute, for my shower with
Kylie my mother in law made the coolest
wreath with diapers, then attached all
sorts of cute little things to it for the
baby.

You can look up "diaper cakes" and find
websites showing you how to. My sister
made one and it turned out GORGEOUS! She
included little stuffed animals, etc.
As an alternative to the 'cake' I make
baskets. I buy a lined basket and get a
whole ton of baby products, nail clippers,
thermometer, baby shampoo, powder,
washcloths, booties, etc and fill the
basket up. I always buy new moms some
diapers too. Everyone underestimates how
many diapers they'll need.

The basket & wreath idea is cute too!
I was actually going to make up a basket
of goodies but then thought about it &
I think I'm going to make a diaper cake
for things the baby will need & then
put a little basket together for stuff the
Mommy will need for herself. I'm just not
sure what to put in the Mommy goodie
basket!

That is a great idea! A tip that someone
had on one of the forums I visited after
my daughter was born was to have a little
basket or one of those cleaning caddy type
of carriers so you could put your book in
it, your cordless phone a water bottle,
etc - everything you'd need to tote around
the house when you are carrying a baby and
breast feeding. That way, it would be
within easy reach.

I made one of those for my friends baby
showe and it was realitively easy
actually, i used curlying ribbon and
individually rolled and tied each diaper,
then i pined a recieving blanket into a
circle shape and set the diapers inside
standing up once that one was full enough
to hole the blanket out I did another
blanket but made a smaller circle and
repeated and then once more for the top
layer. then you can either pin or just set
the other things on the layers. took me
about 2 hrs total. If you wanna make a big
one do size two diapers on the bottom,
ones in the middle and NB on top.
