Switching Pills.

This coming friday I am switching my pills from Ortho-Cyclen to Ortho-Tri-Cyclen. Will I need to use a back up method for a week or two?

No, as long as you are starting the NEW pill at the same time you would have started the old pill.

Actually, and I am not trying to doubt you Carifairy, but I have a friend who just got pregnant from switching and I wondered why for the longest time and when I went to the Gynecologist she told me that the first month on a new pill, even if its only a slight switch, you should use protection. The body is washing out the old one and while the chances of getting prengant are slim they are still there that first month. Thats what she told me atleast. So I would use protection but that is still your call, Jasonsbaby

if it is the same type of pill, (combined hormone) you are protected the whole time. Since you still won't have ovulated, you can't get pregnant.
