I was at the Walmart the other day and I saw this guy kept following these young women everywhere. He would hide behind aisles and move things around to peek at them. Concerned, I went to find someone who worked there to tell them that they guy was really skeeving me out staring at those women like that.

Then, on a few aisles over, you could see another guy (but this one had a walkie talkie) and I figured out what they were doing. These women were stealing merchandise.

When I was young (12), me and 2 of my friends stole some make-up. We didn't get caught that weekend. But the next weekend when my friend went back alone, she did get caught.

I never condone stealing or theft of any kind, do you? Have you ever stolen anything? What is your view on stealing now?

I worked at Sears years ago and we got paid $100 if we saw a shoplifter, called loss prevention and they were caught.

I stole some hair spray form Kmart when I was 16. I have no idea why I did it, because I had money. Just for the thrill I suppose? That was my first and only time.

I would never steal now. NEVER!

I don't condone stealing at all, but I guess I have empathy for someone that is stealing to feed their family. They could go after steak or seafood, but rather steal hamburger or hotdogs or something fairly inexpensive so their family has food. It's really sad.

Lol, I have stolen. My older sister and I both stole keychains from the grocery store. She got caught and I didn't. I was so scared that someone would find them that I took my little sisters play purse, put them in there, threw them in the trash (down to the middle) took the trash out and threw it away myself. I felt so much better after I did that.

omg the irony of how and when I would steal. Before our church youth group, we would go over to the dollar store (half a block away) and steal candy. I used to wear boy shorts with the big pockets so I could get quite a few bags in there. I LOVED the rush I got when I knew I got away with it. I honestly miss it, but I don't think I'd ever go back to it. I'd take things from walmart as well, but it was never anything over a few bucks.

I know the security guard at a store in town and today he was telling me about this woman he caught stealing pick n mix sweets (those penny candies), it was $23 worth of them! Apparantly she went to prison for 2 months for it! ...crazy

I stole some earings with a friend when I was 16, afterwards it didnt seem worth it. I never wore them because I felt too guilty whenever I looked at them. I've accidently stolen candy for jayden twice. He used to hold the packet while we were shopping, then he'd go play on those cars/buses by the entrance-exit doors while I payed for everything. We'd both forget he had put the candy packet in his coat pocket. I went back to pay for it the one time we realised afterwards outside the store, but the 2 times I didnt go back to pay were when we didnt realise until we got back home. Oh well. But I always explain to Jay we have to pay for everything, and now he isn't allowed to hold his stuff until i''ve "payed the lady".

I would feel differently if they were stealing to feed their family too.

I've had things stolen from me a few times when it really hurt. All theft hurts, but this was verging on CRUELTY. My really good friend (I thought!), who had babysat overnight for me and I'd given her MONEY to buy food and have some 'extra'. When I came home, I had $13.00 left and my friend had eaten all the food I had in the house - PLUS, she said she spent all that money. My purse was out in the open and she took all my money. I know this because I didn't discover it was missing until we were at the store and SHE was buying things and I didn't have any money. She said there was some 'leftover' from the day before. What a coincidence that it was exactly 13 dollars!

Another time I had my last $5 for milk taken off the counter at my house. Only 2 people were in my house. My landlord, repairing the thermostat and a friend of a friend who went upstairs to use the bathroom.

Being stolen from feels like one of the worst violations.

Ah I used to be a klepto when I was 13-14. My cousin and i used to steal all the time until we got caught with $18 worth of makeup. We got arrested, I got a $100 fine b/c I was carrying the makeup and we got 6 months of probation when we were 14. Needless to say, I will NEVER steal again. Its really not worth it.

However, I do find it funny that I later worked for Walmart.lol

my friend and I use to steal all the time. More for the rush than anything. Wed take empty bags from stores and fill them with stuff. we prob stole thousands of dollars worth of stuff. This was all before we turned 18 tho. Ive stolen a few things since but not on purpose. Like when I had a really long double stroller and macy was in the front she had a stuffed puppy and i was so busy with a screaming liam i had no idea. we paid for the clothes i was getting and walked out with the puppy. got all the way to the car n i was not walking back. I would feel bad if I stole from a person but big stores i dont feel bad, its a problem i have i guess. Label me a clepto cuz if i didnt have kids id prob still do it.

I can't wait to help catch people who steal, it's such a rush for me. I love to sit back in the office while the security guys question the shop lifters and wait for the cops to get there. I don't feel bad for them, I think it's funny & I laugh inside. I love when people get caught, they deserve it.

I think it is one thing when you are young - and I think most everyone goes through it. But as an adult... I just think it is wrong. What makes one person think they are more deserving of anything for free when we are all working for our stuff? And the amount of money that is spent on loss prevention because some people feel the need (or rush) to steal is astronomical. Who does that expense get passed to? The people who are already paying for their stuff and AREN'T stealing in the first place.

We should do what they did in the old days and cut off the hands of people who steal Smile

I stole candy when I was like 10 and I got caught. They took me down to the police station and that scared me so I've never done it again...

But I've been stolen from many, many times. I just had my dooney and bourke purse stole right off my kitchen table...it had a lot of important stuff in it that can't be replaced...

no that wasnt me... ive never used my kids to steal stuff on purpose. one time i stole a blanket from walmart but it wasnt intentional, we had plenty of money and were buying lots of house stuff and i had to nurse macy and didnt have a blanket so we went the baby dept and got one and forgot about it.

haha I agree.

I stole shirts a few times when I was like 11, I think that's completely different. I was young and stupid. But the adults who come in with their kids and shove stuff in their strollers or diaper bags, it's disgusting. Why would you use your children as tools like that?

I just don't understand why people have to steal in the first place. If you have the money to buy it then just BUY it. You wouldn't want people to steal from you, so why would you do it? Like the thing for the dress, I just think it would have been better to make one, ya know? I don't think it would have been very hard.

I'm too scared to steal!
