I don't understand how someone would still
and still have a good heart. I would feel
terrible. At Old Navy one time the
cashier forgot to ring up a skirt. I
brought it right back and told them that
the worker didn't ring it up. I just gave
it back.
Stealing is a terrible, terrible thing. I
would never have the heart to do it.

When I was 13 my friend and I used to
steal A LOT. We would either put clothes
on underneath what we were wearing or
stuff them into the big bags we already
had. I'm surprised we didn't get caught.
We probably stole $1000 worth of clothes.
Of course, as I got older I felt horrible
about it and haven't stolen anything
since.

I've just never seen the point in it.. If
I wanted something badly enough I'd work
harder to get it. I've been with friends
before though when they've stolen things
& just never understood it..
Especially when what they were taking was
like $1-2! Heck, I would have BOUGHT it
for them!

I have never stolen anything. I guess I
cared too much about getting caught and I
never even thought about it.
Never been a temptation for me.

I stole when I was younger. It is a very
immature thing to do. I would hope someone
wouldn't be using their children to steal
things. That is pathetic and a horrible
example for the children.

I accidentally stole a pack of headbands
from the Dollar Store once. I was like 7
and I put them in my pocket because we
didn't grab a cart or basket or anything
and I just forgot about them. We got home
and I found them and I was TERRIFIED that
the police were coming to get me (hey, I
was 7!) so I made my mom take me back so I
could pay the $1.06.

and fill them with stuff. we prob stole
thousands of dollars worth of stuff. This
was all before we turned 18 tho. Ive
stolen a few things since but not on
purpose. Like when I had a really long
double stroller and macy was in the front
she had a stuffed puppy and i was so busy
with a screaming liam i had no idea. we
paid for the clothes i was getting and
walked out with the puppy. got all the way
to the car n i was not walking back. I
would feel bad if I stole from a person
but big stores i dont feel bad, its a
problem i have i guess. Label me a clepto
cuz if i didnt have kids id prob still do
it. |
I thought you did? didn't you tell me you
use to put things in their stroller and no
one would stop you going out of the store
because you didn't look like you would
steal since you had
kids? |
no that wasnt me... ive never used my kids
to steal stuff on purpose. one time i
stole a blanket from walmart but it wasnt
intentional, we had plenty of money and
were buying lots of house stuff and i had
to nurse macy and didnt have a blanket so
we went the baby dept and got one and
forgot about
it. |
Yeah, it was you. You
told me that when we were in the gift shop
at wet n' wild that you put things in the
kids strollers and I was very surprised
that you wuold do
that. |
maybe i said my friend sharons sisters did
that cuz i know they got caught doing that
but i dont even carry a diaper bag and i
cant ever remember intentionally putting
stuff in my kids stroller.
I dont see stealing from big corporations
as the same as stealing from one
person.Ive walked out with a drink or
something that got covered up and im not
about to go back in a store that i just
spent $100 at to pay $1, they make plenty
of money charging me 200 times what they
pay for the item. thats me though, doesnt
make me an all around bad person. I have
no desire to go to jail and concider
myself lucky to have never been caught cuz
i think my mom would have beat me. Cant
say if i didnt have a family to take care
of I would still do it though. Its a
mental disorder im a cleptomaniac, i
should go on Oprah like that one lady who
stole from the grocery store.

I got caught shoplifting with my friend in
high school and got arrested for it. It's
not worth it. I even got turned down from
a couple of jobs that did background
checks. Thankfully it's no longer on my
record.

Have you ever thought about counseling for
it, Dani?
My cousins sister in law was a clepto, she
stole everything in sight, she seriously
could not help herself. She went to
counseling & she's doing a lot better
now. I don't think using the fact that
you're a clepto is good, because you could
get help for it and then be better! It's
definitely not worth it, Dani.
At K-mart, our policy is if you've stole
over 20 dollars worth, the cops get called
and you most likely go to jail. It's just
not worth it if you can get help for it.

The opposite thing happened to me one day.
I was at Wally World and bought a mountain
dew and set it down to ring everything
else up. I get to the car, put all the
groceries in the back, get both babies in
the car and then I realized I left it
there. I was so mad. There was no way I
was getting both babies back out for a
mountain dew. I was quite parched.

would n need them if i dont go in a store

this. I totally agree i need counseling
for more than that issue. dont have time
tho, no one to watch my monsters.
hopefully when we get back to IL n Macy n

I've stolen. When I was younger I would
steal from Walmart (which I have a hard
time feeling is wrong, because I wouldn't
use my money to support that place). I
use to steal food from the school
cafeteria.
In the last year I've stolen a hair
straightener, and a key chain. I felt bad
both times.
When Nathan worked at Denny's he would
bring home food for us. Bread,
vegetables, frozen fruit, etc.
A lot of the people that are saying how
disgusting stealing is probably download
music and movies, but think they aren't
common thiefs. It's the same thing.

Using your kids to steal is different
though, its so wrong, everyone can see
that and see its totally unfair on the
child. I think its different once you
become a parent too, you have a
responsibility to your child to do the
right thing not steal stuff...wow
fairytale I also got offered a job at the
place me and a friend stole from when I
was 16 lol!

I've never stolen anything in my life- I
was always too scared of getting caught.
But Logan, on the other hand, is always
trying to steal things. Cause of the way
the pushchair is where he is in the bottom
he will just reach out his hand and pick
things up as we are walking past. I always
have to check him now as he stole a DVD
from a record store
I was looking for Mickeys Christmas Carol
and was up quite close to the DVDs not
even thinking about it. When I got on the
bus I realised he had Basil the Great
Mouse Detective in his hand! I was way too
embarrassed to take it back. Luckily it
was on sale for £5 so I didn't feel too
bad
He also stole some electric blue leg
warmers from Claire's Accesories while out
with my mum. He fell asleep in the
pushchair and when she got she saw them in
his hand

I totally agree that involving your kids
is completely unacceptable. Even just
having kids (even if they are at home) and
still stealing takes it to another level.

I understand what you are saying about not
downloading music or movies and that is
why I first stopped downloading music and
now I don't even watch the live streaming
illegal movies on some sites.
So I guess I have stolen if you count
those but I am no longer doing it. I am
getting quite the cd collection now
