putting in partial dentures Posted: 02-07-08 15:34pm
i had my front tooth pulled today, and
last week i had a impression done to get a
partial of my front tooth, we like i said
it's pulled and i have the parital, but im
scared to put it in, when i was at the
dentist office earlier, they put it in my
mouth, and it was so tight. He snapped it
up onto my roof of my mouth, and i have
really bad gag relexes, so naturally i was
gagging. Well after he popped it loose,
it went down my throat a little, and i
freaked out cuz i thought i would choke on
it so i coughed it up, and it flew out of
my mouth, and on to the floor, didn't
break. Well then he put it in again, and
snapped it up there, and after that he
tried to remove it but it was stuck!! He
had to take on of his tools, and pry it up
there just to get it out. So now im
scared to put it in, because what if i
can't get it out??/ Any advice on this??

if you have not use partials before you
would have to adapt to a new thing in your
mouth at first it could cause gagging, be
tight has more salivation and feeling of
full mouth but it is and adaptation period
that many people experience the first
time. maybe clasp where to tight and thats
why it stuck but dentist could make it
loose a little bit. your dentist should
teach you how to put it and how to remove
it and because partials are bigger than
thoat aperture is is improbable that you
can choke with them.

yeah i know you can't choke on them. it's
just the thought of choking on them, i
have to wait till monday for them to fix
them, i wish there was ones that just fit
right behind your teeth, and not go back
as far then i don't think i would have a
problem with them
