Bacterial Vaginosis BV infection
Posted: 02-08-08 12:42pm

i was given Flagyl.took it for the 1st 2 days but could not continue b/c of the side effects. I read online to take Acidophilus & Folic Acid & douche with hydrogen peroxide/water. I did this & the terrible smell dissappeared. I got my period, after my period went away the strange discharge came back but not smelling as bad as it did the 1st time. i repeated the steps of acidophilus, folic acid & peroxide/water & the smell went away. there is NO smell AT ALL while having oral sex but when i sit all day in school & come home to go to the bathroom there is faint smell on my underwear (similar to the smell of elmers glue) is this normal? also the taste is very sour.
i continued to take 1 acidophilus pill and 1 folic acid pill a day. still NO smell during oral. only a slight smell when its on my underwear. the discharge doesnt look thick like paste anymore its more liquid-like & the color is cloudy clearish white & the taste is now VERY salty. Could my BV finally be going away?

A vaginal infection is "cured" when the microbiological examination displays negative results. Judging the effectiveness or completeness of a condition according only to the symptoms is not reliable. The symptoms may be gone but the infective agent could be still present. Cases of relieved symptoms and present infections are possible if medical treatment is not totally completed, as in your case.
