start BC pills while spotting ? Posted: 02-08-08 22:40pm
I started spotting today after finishing
Provera on Thursday. I want to start on
the BC pills the day I start my period
instead of the Sunday after my period. I'm
not sure if I should start today since I'm
spoting or just wait. I'm just not sure if
it's af coming or just spotting. And I'm
not sure what to do.

You can start your birth control pills now
if you'd like. You should use a back up
method of protection (like a condom) for
the first seven days.

Thanks! I was spotting yesterday so It's
okay to start them today? I'm still
spotting nothings heavy. I won't need any
back up method. I won't be having sex the
way I'm feeling! plus I WANT! to have kids
but I'm on BC for my pcos to get better.

Yeah, it is technically fine to start them
at any point. Doctors reccommend to wait
until a Sunday start because its easy to
remember, or when your period starts
because then you know you aren't pregnant
beforehand and you are more protected
faster.
Good luck in TTC, then! If you are TTC
with pcos though, birth control isn't the
best way to TTC (unless if you are trying
to be on birth control for awhile, and
then get off of it to see if things
regulate and ttc then). There are other
ways to treat pcos. Some people use
diabetes medicine to treat it because it
controls the way insulin controls blood
sugar and lowers testosterone problems to
help control ovulation. Fertility
medications help as well. You should talk
to your doctor about these other options
if you want to TTC now

Well, i decided to not TTC now. I'll just
take the bc for 6 months and after I get
off I hope it reguates me and then I'll
start up again. I just want to get better
now. Once I get off I'll ask my doctor to
see if she can prescribe me anything
that's best for me to TTC again!
