I'm a 28 year old healthy female (5'11",
150 lbs). I exercise and eat mostly
healthy. I drink moderately (2-3
times/wk). Since I'm hoping to get
pregnant in 4 months my doctor did some
blood work. Everything was normal except
for an AST of 49 and an ALT of 60. My
doctor said to avoid alcohol and retest in
one month, and if it's still high then she
will retest again in another 6 months. If
it's still high then she will run other
tests. She doesn't want me to get
pregnant until they're down. I'm worried
that they won't go down before I'd like to
get pregnant. IF it's still high in a
month is it appropriate to ask my doctor
to start running tests at that point? I
know the longer I wait to get pregnant,
the harder it will get.
