Lack of sexual interest. Let's say I could
have lived very well, in the past, without
having sex, yet the few times I did (my
first experience at the age of 20 just
because I felt it was about time, not
because I felt the drive to do so). Now I
am almost 30, been with my partner for six
years, and after the first year (we didn't
live together that first year, and had
different jobs; then we started working as
entepreneurs and living together) my
sexual interest began decreasing (no
orgasm, no masturbation...I think of other
things during sex). I do it because I have
to and hope it lasts a short time. If it
lasts longer than ten minutes I tend to
burst into tears from the frustration (of
course he has never seen me cry). I have
no sexual interest whatsoever, for no one.
I'm still with my partner but it's hard to
go on, for him as well, of course, as he
still has great desire. I love him dearly
but I wonder if I should just stay on my
own. Thank you.

According to your main symptoms, lack of
sexual interest, it seems that you are
probably experiencing frigidity. There are
many reasons for frigidity:
1. Congenitally decreased libido;
2. Puritanic education and belief that sex
is a sin;
3. Sexual traumas during childhood;
4. Fear of getting pregnant;
5. Prolonged unsuccessful sterility
treatment;
6. Prolonged lack of a sexual life;
7. Physical and mental tiredness or
fatigue;
8. Severe chronic diseases;
9. Hormonal disorders.
You can consult with a mental health
doctor to explore possible reasons for
your frigidity. If the reason is
congenital there is nothing you can do but
both you and your partner to try to adapt
to your condition. Lucky for you that you
are a woman because women, unlike the men,
are able to have sex even if they are
frigid.
