Both! Lol I was crying but it was happy
tears so I was laughing at the same time.
I did that last push and felt her come out
and gasped and just started bawling, and
looked up at Jacob and we grinned and
shared like a chuckle and the put her on
my tummy and she looked up at me with
those big dark blue eyes and stopped
crying almost instantly.... it was
magical. I'm tearing up thinking about it
now.
-edit- this was taken maybe two minutes
after she was born, RIGHT after her cord
was cut:
And right after they cleaned her up -
still bawling

I could barely think. It really was the
most surreal thing I've ever experienced.
My labor was so long & so hard. When
he was finally born, they set him on my
belly & I just put my hand on his skin
& I was crying on the inside- but the
tears wouldn't come, because I was just
too exhausted. But all I could say was,
"It's Gabe, he's here, it's Gabe!"

I was so close to crying but nothing came
out. I was just so exhausted at that
point, and I was so relieved that he was
here. I couldn't stop staring at him.
I didn't get to hold him right away
because I was shaking so badly and they
were stitching me up. Thomas got to hold
him and then I held him after they brought
him back from the nursery.
I wish I had a picture like Suzy and
Katrina. Next time!

She popped out and they layed her on my
stomach for about 30 seconds and wisked
her away. Everything happened so fast
that I didn't have much time to respond to
her being born. She was passed around the
room to family and they took her to the
nursery. It was about 12 hours after
that, that I really got to see her and
hold her. I cried then.(I had a lot of
complications after birth that prevented
me from having time with her earlier)
