Problems with a broken metatarsal Posted: 02-09-08 15:32pm
I have a broken 5th metatarsal 2 weeks
ago, but it's lucky enough that it's still
in place. I had been in splint for a week,
to let the swelling gone down. Last week
the doctor have it casted, so it has been
in cast for a week so far. It is not fully
casted, with my toes exposed. Doctor
advised not to put any weight on it for
fear my broken bone might moved from its
position.
My problems:
-- I can see the area around my toes
swelling back a little, with uneven
bruises that hurts when touched.
-- It is around my toes too, that the skin
wrinkled with fine lines everywhere.
-- Yesterday, I accidentally fell and put
huge amount of weight and pressure onto my
fractured foot that it hurts for 3 hours.
After that it's all fine till today. I
wonder if there's any need to go back to
the doctor to check if the fall yesterday
causes any unpleasant to my foot.
I really appreciated any comments and
helps.
Thank you!

correct position if this is the case it
will heal badly and could be difficult to
fix a simple x raywill be able to tell if
this is so.
