So my new job is killing me! I work at ups
loading the trucks and i knew i would be
sore for a while until i got used to it,
but i wasnt expecting my hands to be sore.
When i first start working for the day my
hands will go tingly and numb this wiggs
me out. but after a while they stop and i
can finish out the night. Right now they
feel swollen and hurt alot, I cant hold my
bfs hand or hold up the phone because they
hurt.. Im not sure if there really swollen
or just feel like they are.. they look
swollen to me.
Does anyone know of anything that might
help?
advil, tylonol stuff like that doesnt seem
to affect me to much... sometimes it does
but most of the time it doesnt. I took a
norproxion that i had left over from when
i hurt my back, but i dont think it
affects my pain either.
Thanks for any help you can give me!

You could have hurt a nerve or pulled
something. Go to a chiropractor and get
some help if it gets worst

It could be the nerves maybe accidently
you must have hurt it, is it hard when
you touch it? Sometimes when one touch hot
water in a cup without knowingly or hit
the hand or finger it could hurt the
nerves, I had the experience recently,
give it a few days if it is still hurts
then go and see a doctor they might
prescribe something for you.

Do you wear gloves? My boyfriend worked
that job and I think he said something
about his hands once and how he was going
to get gloves for it.
I'll ask him about tonight to see if it
helped or if it was something else.

You can be putting pressure on nerves in
your hand, near the fatty area by your
thumb. This can cause lots of pain and
tingling. Cyclists can develop a similar
type of pain from leaning on the handle
bars. Try different gloves. This may help.
If not go to the doctor - a neurologist.
They can test you for nerve troubles. Hope
this helps.

Well, I talked it over with my bf. The way
he explained it seemed like how my hands
would get during basketball practice (The
kind of practice where you ran so much you
begged your teammates to cut off your legs
). My hands
would get puffy and hard to get into a
first sometimes and it was always a weird
feeling.
So you're lifting, which is exercising,
and what happens is that you're body
redirects your blood to your hands to
circulate the exercising muscles. Then you
hands get cold so your body works double
time to circulate your hands to make them
more warm which sometimes leads to
swelling.

Whoops, I missed a huge chunk when I was
spell checking it.
They say do arm circles or make your hands
into an occasional fist here and there
during exercise, or in your case work--
although arm circles would look pretty
funny. Try these things out, if they don't
improve then yeah, I'd run it by a doctor
just in case and if its really bothering
you.
