Changing Birth Control Brands Posted: 02-11-08 12:09pm
I went to the doctor on Monday of last
week. They changed my pills. I started the
new pills on Friday since that was when my
old pack ended. Well Friday I took the
first white pill but my period never
wanted to end, I still had another pack of
my old birth control so I took a pill out
of there to stop it then took the next
white pill in the new pack. Well yesterday
Sunday I took another one from my old
pack. Should I just use my old pack or
should I go ahead and stick with the new
birth control?

Continue with the new pills, IF you want.
Whenever you start a new pill you may have
spotting or bleeding irregularity. This
does not mean that the pill is not
working, it means that your body is
adjusting to new hormones.

Will I need to use a backup method this
weekend when my boyfriend comes down if I
switch to the new pills? And there will be
a extra white pill what do I do with that?

the white pills dont do anything, they are
basically there to help you remember when
to start the new pack.
With all the birth control switching Id
say use a backup method to be on the safe
side. I read today in a parenting magazine
you have an 8 out of 100 chance of getting
pregnant from missing one day or not
taking your pill at the same time
everyday.

The white pills are active. The green ones
are inactive in these packs. I'm on
ortho-tri-cylcen. And I haven't been late
or missed a pill yet so.

You do NOT need back-up since you started
the new pill when you would have normally
started your old pill.
You can save the extra 'active pills' in
case an accident happens. SAY you drop one
and cannot find it, or it falls into the
sink.
I usually tell women to keep an extra pack
in case of emergency..

the new i'm still fine as far as
protection goes?
