I'm 14 and well.... I'm the only one who is bi in my family. My oldest brother had thought about it before, but is completely straight... He keeps telling me I'm not though so he's confusing me even more, the buttmunch. Very

I'm glad you think that... I'm not all that cool, and buttmunch is one of my friends words that I stole from her. And I'm only helpful because I know how discrimination feels. Very

I"m not sure if it does or not, because certainly many gay people can say they have gay relatives, but I think probably just as many gay people can say they don't. I think though that when there are more gay people in the family, it makes it easier and less shocking to be gay than if no one in the whole family was gay. Maybe there are more out gays with gay family members than ones with no gay family members, because the ones that are the only ones in their family hide it from everybody...

Hi, I truly believe that being gay/lesbian/bi is heredity although it has not been medically proven. I used to wonder about this because several members of my family are either gay/lesbian/bi and the signs were there during childhood.

About 10 years ago, a friend of mines was married with two children then left her husband for another woman and married her, which lasted for 1 year. Today you can't remind her of that because it disgust her and she says that she was so stupid to do that. Apparently, she was hanging out with gays and lesbians and got caught up in it (she was never a lesbian).

One of my sisters who was married with children started hanging around a bisexual girl (became her best friend), about a year later, she tells me that she feels sexually attracted to women, which I found hard to believe because she and I hung out also for years and always dated guys, also, we grew up together in the same household, and there were never any signs.

The reason I'm sharing this is because I believe that there are other reasons why some people get confused about their sexuality, such as outside influences.

Early this year, there was a talk show, I don't remember which one, about how alledge gay individuals got "cured" from being gay. Some were hypnotized and one had an exorcism(this one claimed that he was no longer gay because the gay spirit that possed him left his body). He said he had no more sexual desires for men.

A child that shows some signs, in my opinion, is born with it, but an adult that just realized it, may be due to other reasons that's not hereditary.

I hope that I didn't come off offensive to anyone here because that was not my intensions, if I did, I apologize.

I think you are 1000% right...and if any one was offended by anything you said then they are way 2 sensitive cuz you didn't say anything wrong! rainbow rainbow rainbow rainbow rainbow rainbow rainbow I was born gay..I know that for a fact and no one...especially a straight person...can ever tell me different. Also, there is no way you can "pray the gay away"...you may fool yourself into thinking differently but come on...sexuality is innate... I am glad I am gay and wouldn't want to be anything or any one else! rainbowflag

Your born with it but it may take awhile for you to realize it and then inform others. That leaves most of them to think that you chose it IMO.

Very similar to a heterosexual once they realize they are attracted to the opposite sex. We may not be born KNOWING that we want a sexual relationship with someone up until around puberty. So in defiance of the "choice" argument one could then say that heteros "choose" to like the opposite sex Wink

Ha! Thanks for the info. I have the Campbell soup, Marilyn Monroe, Elvis, and 2 Flowers bags. What's funny is I buy them for ~$25 at Ross but upscale boutiques sell them for around $70-$100...
Yes, I bet I would've loved it. Smile
