"high-grade ultrasound" is? My friend is
having to get one and I can't find

high grade? ive never heard of that. Maybe
she means a 3d one? or they are going to
check for things than they normally do at
a standard ultrasound? What does she have
to have one for?

How far along is she? (how many weeks)
I know that you have different ultrasounds
at different stages to determine various
factors.

she is about 17 wks...she took one of the
many tests given and dr cld her and said
that her baby *might* have downs syndrome,
so she is going to a specialist to get a
"high grade" ultrasound done....hmmm....

In this case, it means they will be
looking for any defects in the spine.
However, rest assured a very lot of those
tests come back false positive. Which is
why a lot of women opt out of it.

Yes, I assured her that most likely
everything will be fine. She just wasn't
sure if they do anything different than
regular ultrasounds
