The thoughts are hell. It's
been a while, but I clearly remember. Do
whatever (healthy thing) it takes to bump
your brain off them. Sometimes I
literally focus on the here and now:
You're walking down the hall, when you get
to the end of the hall you'll go into the
room, when you're in the room ... it
seems to occupy the brain enough to
silence the thoughts, maybe because when
you're using your brain this way it's busy
thinking of the next step you need to
take.
I do the same thing! It usually really
works...step by step...

I differ with Carrie in her
statement that BPD is not listed as a
mental disease. I'd like you to go to the
Mayoclinicdotcom and read everything they
have regarding this condition. You'll be
much better informed as to how and why you
should seek treatment if you truly are
Bipolar. Wishing you the best.

Sorry to turn this into a debate, but I am
sure of my post above. The doctor himself
told me that. Everyone has thier own
opinion. It is not a mental disorder. Lack
of Lithium........I already told you that
this was the way they determained it in
the 80s. I just called my pharmasist and
he agreed that Lithium does not show up in
the blood stream and you must have a level
with the first dose to determain if you
are or not. Now days, I guess it just goes
by sytoms. I is a bloos disorder.

Hi kiran mbbs Posted: 02-13-08 17:50pm
We try not to get off topic here at
ehealth. The topic is Bipolar Disorder. I
think it best for you to make your own
Topic on this issue. We do this so we
don't mix up who we are talking and what
about. Makes it very hard for a volunteer
to change topic's mid stream. There is a
forum for Stomach Disorders.
Thanks,
Carrie

Bipolar is a REAL (emphasis added) medical
condition that affects one's mental
status. Therefore, one's mental status is
affected as a result of the condition.
Laryngitis is a real medical condition
that affects the voice. The voice isn't
weak because it's a bad voice and the
weakness in the voice didn't cause the
illness. It's just a facet of the
condition, it's not the entire condition
and, most importantly, it isn't who you
are.
