ovarian cancer & mentrual cycle Posted: 02-13-08 07:26am
Okay so heres some back story. I went on
the pill in 2004 then in July 2005 I came
off it because I couldn't afford it
anymore, I was off it for a month, my
period came as normal the next month and I
went back on it as I got a new job and
could afford it.
Then in August 2007 I came off it again as
once again, I couldn't afford the
prescription. No period in September. No
period in October.
I got my period in November. I haven't had
another one since. I've done about 20
pregnancy tests so it's not that - I'm not
really stressed out, but I really need
advice as to what it can be.
I do try and eat healthy although I am a
little overweight and probably eat
junkfood a little more than average when
I'm at work and such, I doubt this would
cause it to be delayed this long though??
Ive been having cramps on and off for
weeks, I thought for sure it was going to
come two weeks ago as I had cramps and PMS
symptoms but nothing has come yet at all.
My mum had ovarian cancer about 8 years
ago - and I'm just scared that my no show
period means I have it too, I'm planning
togo to the doctors very soon but I just
want some advice first to see if you guys
can work out whats wrong with me??? I am
20 by the way, and have been sexually
active since I was 17 (with the same
partner)

First of all, if you cannot afford birth
control there are places where you can get
it for free. You may need to let them
examine you (even if you recently had your
annual exam), but they usually will give
you a years supply for free. Any health
clinic.
Being overweight can cause irregular
periods in some women, but that is really
a matter that a doctor will have to
investigate. How old was your mother when
she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer?
Have you noticed any other symptoms
besides the cramps-like intestinal upset
or a change in bowel habits?

This sounds like it may be an ingrown
hair. However, if you are EVER concerned
about cancer, you need to see a doctor.

How big is it?
I had a pea sized one in my armpit once
and it turned out to be a sebaceous cyst.
You have sebaceous glands in that area of
your body and they can get clogged easily
and even get big. Make an appointment
with your family doctor to have it checked
out.

Pretty sure this post was about me, not
your armpit ;/ make a new post for your
armpit thanks.
as for the birth control, I'm in Australia
they dont have the same healthcare system
over here so I can't get it for free. My
mum, im not sure how old she was cos I was
young myself, but I think she was 37
