Does Not Always Occur Posted: 05-04-04 04:28am
Hi there,
just wanted to let you know that
implantation bleeding is not a given.
Many women do not have implantation
bleeding. Some just have an odd
cramping, others have no real sign of
implantation. Don't count on
implantation bleeding to singify
pregnancy.
"we regard real implantation bleeding as a
bleeding episode that occurs two weeks
after conception... But more about it
near the end of this page."
which means about 2 weeks after you
ovulate if you did conceive you
could have implantation bleeding,
but that doesnt' always happen.
Good luck

Thanks you very much for the information.
What do you think this sounds like?On
march 29 I had af and then we decided to
stop taking bc right after the first week
of my pills so I had another af on april
17 but it was only like one day. Does
this sound right or could that of been the
implantation bleeding? If that was
implantation bleeding then I have not got
my next af yet which would of been due on
april 25. If it was just another af then
I should be due on this coming friday may
7. Does anyone know what it sounds like?
Thanks for your advise.

I'm not sure what "af" means - some
expression for menstrual bleeding, i"m
guessing?
Sounds to me like you had a period -
started taking the first week of pills
following that. Stopped the pills after
that week and you bled some? If that's
so, then the bleeding is most likely
because you've stopped taking the pills.
With hormonal birth control, you pretty
much get all kinds of wonky behavior with
your cycle, when you quit the pills.
Understand that without taking the pill,
you most likely be "due" for your period
necessarily at the same time. It could
take a good bit longer than you expect for
your period to a. Come back and b.
Become regular (if it ever does become
regular). It could take a few months
for your period to come back (if you were
on the pill for a long time - more than a
year or soo, it can take a while to have a
period again).
Many women actually come off the pill and
get some pretty irregular and/or long
cycles. Don't count on having the same
cycle length (days between your first day
of one period to the first day of the
next) now that you're off the pill. It
will take some time, if varies with every
woman but for those women i've talked with
it takes months to roughly a year and a
half, to get a regular, predictable cycle
going.
If you're concerned you might be pregnant,
then by all means, take a pregnancy test.
But it's possible that your body is just
trying to "get back into the swing of
things" now that you're not taking
artificial hormones.
So if you're trying to avoid pregnancy,
use a barrier method (such as a condom)
and if you're trying to get pregnant, then
don't stress. It will probably take
some time for your body to get back into
it's own sync again without the pill.
It could be months before you get a
predictable period again.
And if that's not enough info, seriously,
try reading this book: taking charge of
your fertility by toni weshler or
check out this site www.Tcoyf.Com there's
alot to learn there and it has helped many
women get or avoid pregnancy, as well as
just get to know their own bodies better.
