Lets say that a 16 boy who's fathers side
of the family (prone to schizophrenia) and
who's mothers side of the family (prone to
Bipolar disorder and generalized anxiety)
was diagnosed with ADD when he was eight.
He tried ritalin but some of the ungodly
side effects took place, so his parents
took him off of it. He hasn't been back to
the doctor or on medicine since. He always
had much energy and got fantastic grades
in school.
Fast fowarding eight years (so he is now
16) this male seems to be ehxibiting
extreme phycological symptoms for several
days at a time, and then suddenly
"snapping" out of it. It almost seems as
if his behavior has gone wild, he is doing
unthinkable things in public, extremely
irratable, and seeing things, and also
saying thigs that do not make sense.
Following those epidodes are extereme
bouts of paranoia, no sleep, etc. He is
also seeing things, hearing things, but
not thinking that anything is wrong.
Saying voices in his head are talking to
him and telling him to do things.
Does this scenerio sound like the boy
could be exhibiting symptoms of
schizophrenia? And could this boy possibly
have it? When did you first exhibit
symptoms, and were they similar to this?
Please, anything you can say/ imput you
have will help.
Thank you so much.

It could be any number of possible
disorders. Go see a psychiatrist and get
an evaluation. This sounds very unsettling
to this person and warrants further
investigation by a doctor. These symptoms
could be schizophrenia or bipolar
disorder. You need to get some
professional assistance with this. All the
best.
