Hello everyone.
I'm all new to this and I'm going to start
nuva ring next cycle.
I just have one question:
So there is no need to withdrawl if birth
control is done accordingly.
But once on NuvaRing... we do have one
week off to have our period.
During that period... do we need to
withdrawl during intercourse or is it
still safe not too.
Thanks!
I'll let you know about my NuvaRing
experience!

No, you don't need to withdraw. Because
just like ALL forms of hormonal birth
control with placebo days, you are still
protected on the "off days".
Pill packs may have pills to take during
the "period" week, but they are made of
inert materials (normally sugar, thus
"sugar pills") and do not have hormones.
Just like during the "out week" for
nuvaring, a pill user has absolutely no
added hormones in her system during the
placebo week. You don't even have to take
those pills!

this is probably the my favorite because
you don't have to remember to take a pill
every day.
The only thing I dislike about this is
that I get so incredibly moody.

Can cause depression Posted: 02-06-08 22:45pm
I too have used different types of birth
control and although it is said that
nuvaring produces the lowest amount of
hormones it has caused the greatest amount
of depression. I have only been on it for
6 days and after suffering heavily without
any life changes I took it out this
afternoon and tonight I already feel
better. I would suggest to anyone who has
depression issues to carefully consider
any type of birth control.
