Identicals generally aren't diagnosed by
ultrasound, that was why I was asking.
There is testing that is done after birth
that can show if babies are identical.
Who is paying for your care? Twin
pregnancies are expensive - and I know you
can not have enough money to cover that.
Let alone the hundreds of dollars an
ultrasound costs.
What about baby cribs? And clothes? And
diapers? You need to tell your parents as
soon as possible. You'll need all the
support you can get!

You didn't say how old you are.
Have you considered adoption?
Why do you have to skip school? Your
parents will be notified of your absenses.
You probably want to tell them about your
pregnancy before they find out from some
other way.
How are you hiding a 25 lb weight gain?

Are you planning on keeping the girls or
giving them up for adoption? Either way,
you're going to want to tell your parents,
but if you're choosing adoption you'll
need help getting everything set up.

I'm mostly concerned that the babies are
sharing a placenta and an amniotic sac.
There are huge risk factors in this kind
of pregnancy. With TTTS there is a greater
risk of the babies becoming tangled in
each other's cords. Not to mention the
health risk to the donor twin and the twin
getting more nutrients and blood flow. It
is recommended in pregnancies like this
that the mother be hospitilized at around
week 24 for constant monitoring and
bedrest.
This is a really serious pregnancy that
needs attention. This girl needs to tell
her parents.

Yeah, you should probably tell your mom.
The risk of one of these babies dying is
quite high. You'll need more care in the
future. I'm sure you won't be able to
afford that yourself.

yeah how are you paying for this? Even
with insurance it's expensive. They would
have told you about TTTS I'd assume.

She told you what to do. She told you to
go tell your parents, THAT is what you
need to do.
Please do not say that again. They've been
giving you advice and you aren't
listening. Go tell your parents.

Twin to twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS):
results from abnormalities of the placenta
in monozygous twin pregnancies. TTTS
results from blood passing
disproportionately (transfusing) from one
twin baby to the other through connecting
blood vessels within the shared
(monochorionic) placenta.
Monozygotic (monozygous) twins: twins
formed from a single zygote.
Monochorionic twins: twins who have
developed in a single chorionic sac. These
twins are always monozygotic.
Yes, a very serious situation.

You go see the doctor every week and you
don't know if you have developed TTTS
because you are listening to the heart
beats? You will probably need to start
seeing a specialist. The health center is
not appropriate for the kind of care a 15
year old who is pregnant with
monochorionic twins.
