2 month update Posted: 02-15-08 18:13pm
Tessa had her 2 month pedi appt. today.
She's now 23 inches long and weighs 8 lb.
14.5 oz. She's a tiny baby. Her weight is
at 3% and her height at 56%. But the doc
said Tessa is doing fine; she's reached
her milestones and has gained
appropriately since her last appt. (she
was 6 lb. 9 oz. then). The doc did not
mention supplementing with formula, which
made me happy (she is 100% breastfed)! I
was afraid since Tessa was so petite, they
might suggest it, but apparently her gain
is good, she's just on the small side. I'm
pretty small and DH has always been tall
& thin (up until a few years ago,
super thin, he maybe weighed 160 lb. and
is 6'4") but now he's closer to 200 lb.
(more what he should weigh).
Tessa got her vaccinations (3 shots &
1 oral) at her appt. and she was MAD. Once
she realized she was being stuck, her face
turned beet red. I've never seen her so
red and mad and she screamed and screamed.
After the immunizations, I finally pulled
out the boob and breast fed her a bit in
the office to get her to calm down. The
booby worked like a charm .
Now she is a bit fussy. I gave her infants
Tylenol before the appt. (it was
recommended) and some again 4 hours later
per the nurses instructions, but I can
tell she is warmish and not feeling well
at all this afternoon. It's DH's birthday
too, lucky him!
I have to go...Tessa is fussing!
Hopefully, I can catch up on personals
once we recover from the vaccinations.

Wow! She is a little one. Brina is 3 weeks
old and weighs more than her. That's okay
though. It sounds like she's doing
wonderfully. I'm about to try to get back
to breastfeeding her 100% of the time.
That's great that you've been able to do
so.

I'm glad she's doing well.
Don't worry about percentiles. They're
just numbers. And no matter what
percentile she's in, she's healthy.
Congrats on breastfeeding 100%! I'm
envious.
Nya's my lil trooper though, she'll get
it...one day. If not, that's ok, I won't
think ANY less of her!
I hate shots!
