Tingling/Heaviness in Legs Posted: 02-17-08 21:14pm
I am a 20 year old female. I have
Positional orthostatic tachycardia (POT)
syndrome, along with another slew of
medical problems.
As of the past few days, my medical
problems have worsened. I'm having bad
blurred vision (I'm even having trouble
seeing the computer screen, so excuse any
typos), heaviness in my legs, tingling in
my feet. I tend to collapse when I stand
up. That I know is due to the POT
syndrome. It feels like my heart is
beating way faster than normal, but
neither myself nor my mother is very good
at taking my pulse. It just feels FAST.
I'm quite lightheaded, and am having
trouble thinking clearly.. my mind feels
all "foggy", for lack of a better term.
I really don't want to go back to the
neurologist, as I was just there on
Thursday. But if I need to, I'll call him
up. He did say to call him if things got
worse. I just don't want to have to call
him.. so I figured I'd ask for advise
somewhere first to see if I'm just
overreacting. This has been going on for a
few days - it started getting bad on
Friday, I think.
Thanks.

Hi
It sounds like you need to call the
neurologist. Do the doctors say anything
about your rapid heartbeat? Are you on
medication for tachycardia?
My heartbeat gets over 140 bpm, I'm on
medication for tachycardia.
Do you have a blood pressure cuff? Some of
them give the pulse along with the blood
pressure.
