went to the clinic 2 days ago and the
doctor said i probably have strep throat
but have to wait for the test to come back
but she started me on penicillin anyways.
my throat has got better since but my
cough is still really bugging me, i cant
sleep. it takes me forever to fall asleep
then i wake up in the middle of the night
and cough and cant go back to sleep unless
i take some cold and cough mediance before
bed. i still dont know if it is strep
throat but i was told that coughing isnt a
sign on it, so i wanted to know if that
was true. and if it is strep throat how
long does it useully take to go ago, its
now the 5th day since i've been sick and
cant stand it, i really need sleep. and
does anyone have any ideas of what i can
do to help my coughing? and since the 2nd
day i've been sick my jaw is really
bugging when i open my mouth wide, as if
it is moving, i can feel it, i was
wondering if this is because of my swollen
glands in my throat. thank you.

I'm not sure if coughing is a symptoms of
a strep infection, or not. The throat
culture will tell you. I had chronic
strep as a child and was always treated
with penicillin. I started feeling better
usually after a couple of days.
Are you sure that you don't have a
respiratory infection? Do your lungs
hurt?
Try a spoonful of honey for the coughing.
Or an expectorant.
