kidney stone
Posted: 02-18-08 18:29pm

I had a kidney stone last week and passed it on the same day i had pain in my back. that day i went to a doctor and had a sonogram which showed no stones but hydonefrosis in my right kidney (where i had the stone, i guess). My question is im still urinating frequently even after passing the stone, is this normal. Im told this is because of the hydronefrosis and the kidney healing. Is this true? i have no pain, just an annoying feeling like my bladder gets full faster than normal and i have to go a lot. thanks. if anyone has experienced this let me know.

With hydronephrosis your kidney ends up getting larger from lack of urine being able to pass either from a stone or another type of obstruction.
It might take a little time for it to empty completely, but I would think by now it would have emptied fairly sooner than this.

Is it possible you have an infection?
When you urinate is it a lot or little each time? If it 's a little you might still have a small stone causing occasional blockages from it moving.

Some stones do not show up on scans.
