New to Heart Problems, Can You Help?
Posted: 05-05-04 04:27am

Hi everyone! Was searching on the internet about heart topics because I had an ekg come back abnormal and indicates qt prolongation. The dr told me this is too long a period between beats at times and thus not enough oxygen.
Have had a problem with my left leg on and off for a couple of years now.
Kind of a mystery what it is, just basically decided after having ultrasounds looking for blood clots and not any found....That maybe it is arthiritis or something like that.
No big deal, just feels heavy at times and kind of tingly and numb at others and most often, like a cramp that just stays for awhile.
Also have been so tired and seems like I am getting weaker everyday. The ole grey mare she ain't what she used to be.....
I am normally full of energy and go, go, go....But here lately it is all I can do to just do the basics.
Can see how a person could be diagnosed depressed, feeling like this, but that's not what it is.
I just want to feel "normal" and can't seem to get there. Occasionally I will have a good day and feel energy and I don't know why, try to figure out what I did different and can't put my finger on it. Maybe chocolate!!!! Think I need an almond joy, just in case :+)
have a ringing in my ear that is pretty much always there, for about 4 months now. Just wish it would change tones every once in awhile, get tired of the same one.
Annoying, but after awhile, kind of get used to it.
The last few weeks I have had trouble getting enough oxygen it seems, and my chest feels like it is full of pressure.
I went into the dr and had an ekg done, got the results back and my dr told me that it shows abnormal as I mentioned above...With the qt prolongation, so now I have to wait to see a cardiologist.
My dr did mention that it may be that I am low on potassium, they did a blood test for that today too. Wow!! I didn't know that could affect your heart and show up on an ekg.
So I guess that would be easy to correct if that is the case.
Asprin makes me feel better, take one at night.
Was wondering if baby asprin might be better to take?
Forgot to ask the dr, just trying to figure out what I can do for right now.
Today I just feel like kind of a burning feeling in my chest and tightness. But you know, it can also be anxiety maybe, so how is a person to know the difference?!
I am so weak, but when I lie down, it is more pressure in my chest and harder to breath.
Does anyone know why that might be?
While ago I was feeling a stabbing pain, right shoulder area but on the left lower side of my right shoulder.
Man oh man, is that confusing or what??
I had to read it twice too.
I get that feeling sometimes and I just attribute alot of this to getting older.
But i'm only 42, i'm much too young to feel this darn old!!!
To think I made fun of my grandma for always talking about her aches and pains and she was in her 80's.
Here I am on a message board, doing it at 42.
Sorry grandma!!!! I know you always said, "what goes around, comes around."
no wonder she chased me around the house with that old wire fly swatter.
Let me know if ya'll have any thoughts on what could be going on with me.
I won't hold you to it and hey, all I have to do is sit here and wait and wonder till I can get into see the cardiologist.
Going to sign off the puter now and call them and set up an appointment.
Tried while ago and a recorder told me they have a 2 hour lunch break, to call back.
Glad I wasn't having a coronary and needed in right away.
Thanks in advance, hope all of you are doing well.
