Bipolar meds and Gastric Bypass Posted: 02-19-08 16:49pm
I'm planning on having Gastric Bypass in
May 2008. I am currently attending a 6
month pre-op class. I understand that
post-op I will not be able to take
medication, ie pills, as they will not
pass thru the newly created small opening.
I'm afraid to make a big deal about this
with my surgeon (and in my class) because
I don't want to be rejected for the
surgery. I take Depakote, and Wellbutrin.
Anyone have the answer??????

Please contact the doctor's office for
more details. There should be a contact
there so you don't have to bring up the
topic during class. The surgeon is there
for you and he definitely needs to know.
