foreskin not retracting - Phimosis affect on sex life ? Posted: 02-19-08 18:57pm
My foreskin doesn't retract very much.
When placid i can just about pull it all
the way back. However when erect it wont
go beyond the rim of the penis head. Being
a late starter in the sex game i never
realized that this wasn't normal. However
after seeing a few porn films I've noticed
that most guy can pull their foreskin all
the way back.
From looking on this site i believe that
the condition is called Phimosis. It's not
been a problem for me so far (apart from
some slight dribbling occasionally when
urinating) however i'm concerned that it
is going to be a big problem when i start
having intercourse.
Could someone let me know 1 - Whether it
is going to be a problem sex wise and 2 -
what i can do about it.

When it comes to sex, you will only know
when you try it (safely!). There are many
men who experience pain during sex because
of the thrusting that goes on.
There are many stretching techniques that
you can try. There are also ointments that
the doctor can give you to assist in
stretching/retracting your foreskin.
Circumcision is an option, however it is
one that I would only use as a last resort
if you're experiencing a lot of pain
during sex. Once your foreskin is gone...
it's gone for good!
It's also important to make sure that,
especially with phimosis, you properly
clean underneath your foreskin. You said
that you can retract your foreskin almost
all the way when you're flaccid... make
sure you clean underneath it, as
infections and skin irritations are a risk
with phimosis.

Cheers for advice.
Does this condition effect the use of
Condoms at all? If i remember from sex ed
in school the foreskin should be pull back
before applying. Does it matter that i
can't do this?

It will increase the play time you can
enjoy for a longer time mostly you will
end up giving your partner the orgasm
but later on if you get diabetics then
you should circumcise if you cant
completely retract during bath --- use
a 10 ml injection syringe without needle
and inject water inside and closing the
tip clean well and let the water go out,
it is better if you can do it after every
urination. dont bother much

I have tight foreskin as well and condoms
can be something of a nuisance to put on.
I use "easy-on" condoms to make up for
this.

how far back should I be able to pull back
my foreskin when erect?
should it go down the shaft or just back
over the head of the glans.

I'm guessing it varies for most people. As
long as it can go back over the glans and
doesn't cause pain or irritation, it's
fine.
