lump in breast with sharp pain Posted: 02-20-08 11:12am
The other day my boyfriend brought to my
attention something "weird" he felt in my
breast. He showed me where it was and it
is the same place where i have been having
a sharp pains. The pains happen maybe 5-7
times a week, and don't last for long,
just a few minutes. I know that sometimes
you can get lumps in your breasts from
drinking too much caffine, but I usually
only have a soda times a week and never
drink any other caffine. I was at the
gyno a about two months ago and she didn't
say she felt anything weird. Should I get
it checked out? Is the pain and lump
normal?

I would get it checked out. I heard the
other day that in most cases, it's the men
who feel something different in their wife
or girlfriend's breasts. If there's ever a
doubt, get it checked out! Pain like that,
not really normal. I'd get it checked out.
How old are you? Any hormonal changes like
pregnancy, birth control, etc.?

I am 25. I'm not on birth control and
haven't really had any medical changes.

Yeah, I'd definitely get it checked out.
If in doubt, check it out!! And don't
worry too much, even if it is a legitimate
lump, chances are, it's nothing dangerous.

It's probably cysts or inflammation of the
milk ducts. The generally-held wisdom is
that if it hurts, then it isn't anything
deadly!
Nevertheless, you need to have a breast
specialist check it out. If it is a
cysts, it is easily dealt with.

I agree. I would get it checked out just
in case. It's always better safe than
sorry.
