chewing on one side with lower midline deviation

Hi. I'm wondering if any of you with TMJ, with or without midline deviations, feel comfortable chewing only on a certain side.
My lower midline is deviated to the left, and I'm used to chewing on my left side. Whenever I'm eating something chewy, if i try to chew it on my right side, the muscles on my left side feel VERY tired. It would seem as if I was lifting weights with my cheeks! lol.
Anyone know why this happens or does it happen to you?
