I posted this in the wrong forum so I
apologize for the double-post. I need
help though with my issue.
"i would like to thank the admin for
having this forum. I have just recently
been diagnosed with genital warts and as
another member declared on this forum, "i
felt like a leper."
i know a lot of people are struggling with
this infection so i'm not going to ask for
sympathy; however, I am coming on here to
learn as much as I can to keep myself as
healthy as possible now.
Of course, I contracted this about 2 weeks
ago and saw my doctor today since I
noticed the wart cluster was becoming
increasingly larger in size. Right now,
it's an isolated cluster, and it's
actually very small in size but
noticeable.
I have plenty of questions. My doctor
consulted me to a urologist today and i'll
be waiting to speak with him but in the
meantime I was wondering a few things.
1. I am currently seeing my previous
girlfriend right now. We had sex in the
past and stopped seing each other for a
moment. Now we're back together. No, I
never cheated on her and our past split
was because she moved. Anyway, i'm not
telling her I have the infection right now
and I plan to use protection always for
the time being. My question is....Will I
ever be able to have unprotected sex with
her and not pass on the virus to her and
cause her to contract genital warts? I
ask because I would like to have a family
with her.
2. Am I correct in assuming I will never
rid myself of the hpv virus and that I may
have an outbreak of the genital warts at
some given time in the future?
3. What is the best treatment on the
market? Sure, I am talking to the
urologist and respect his opinion but I
would like as little scarring and pain as
possible. I am willing to do whatever is
necessary (within means) to take care of
the initial outbreak but if anyone has
heard about herbal treatments (warts no
more and warts no more extra strength?)
please let me know if they are beneficial.
Thanks for the insight. I've always known
that herpes and hpv were incurable and
hoped I never would get them, but it only
took one slip."

Bro I dont think u can have protected sex
w. Her cause I dont think condoms work in
the spread unless the condom covers all
the warts...Or u dont have warts present
at the time...Does she have warts too?

I do have some now but i'm getting treated
for them. However, they are in a position
in which they are covered by the condom.
Despite that fact, when they disappear via
treatment and I have no outbreaks, i'm
under the impression, through dialogue
from medical professionals, that I still
possess the capability of transmitting hpv
to my partner even if there are no visible
warts.
Am I correct?
Thanks for the response. I appreciate it.

No she doesn't have hpv by the way hence
the reason I am concerned in giving hpv to
her in unprotected sex.

partner

I just don't understand that figure. I
mean that is the same thing my doctor told
me although he stated it in a different
manner, "about 30% chance you won't
transmit it to your partner."
so my only question is, what actually
prevents me from transmitting it (when no
outbreaks present, during unprotected sex)
to my partner? I mean, will I have to
wear a condom forever? I guess that's
punishment....
basically, is it a risk I shouldn't be
willing to take?

Hpv is an infection that is viral meaning
it is uncurable and will remain with you
always. Even if you don't have any
visible warts, you still have the virus in
your body. Meaning that you can still
spread the virus without any visible
warts. It is contracted either skin to
skin/fluid (wart to vagina), simply from
fluid to fluid (semen to vaginal
secretions or genital secretions to
saliva).
If you do care for your girlfriend, you
will tell her when you feel it is the
right time. Using protection will keep
the virus only with you, this also means
any oral sex needs to be protected. If
you do want to have children in the future
of course you will have to stop using
protection. It can take just one time or
a few to contract the virus. So, in the
future it would be best to know exactly
when she is ovulating and time it
appropriately so that hopefully one time
unprotected is all it takes for her to
become pregnant. You will just have to
deal with it then.
Because this is a horrible disease for
women, your girlfriend may not want to
have unprotected sex with you. In women,
it can cause the cervical cells to change
making them cancereous and then developing
to cervical cancer. There are different
strains of the virus and not all will
develop into cervical cancer.
I hope this helped a little bit. Best of
luck.
