First Doctors Appointment

When am I supposed to have my first
doctor's appointment? I was under the
impression that the first one would be
immediately, but when I called the office,
they said the first one was around ten
weeks. I didn't realize they were going
to do an ultrasound so early. They said
the first appointment they have to be able
to see the baby!

Yeah 10 weeks is good, they do need to see
and make sure there is a heartbeat. Then
the doctor checks you. Next you might
have to get a pap, blood work and hear the
heartbeat. I had mine at 10 weeks too.

Did you go to the doctors to confirm
pregnancy yet?? I thought they'd do that
sooner, but then again im not pregnant so
I dont know lol

Well my doc just believed me lol. They do
not like to wait longer than 10 weeks
though. They do it at that time so they
can do an u/s and see how far long you
really are and determine your due date.

I had my first appointment a week after my
positive test results. My first
apointment and unltra sound were at 6
weeks and 6 days. They saw the heart beat
and everthing.

Wow 6 weeks is early to hear a heartbeat.
At least I thought it was.. But thats

I found out at 6-7 weeks.. And called the
doc right away, but they didnt see me
until I was 12 weeks and I got my
ultrasound that day*

That makes me feel better. I took the
other test when I got home from work, and
of course, it was positive too!

My first was at 5 weeks, but te u/s was
too early to see a baby so I had to have
another one two weeks later...But I guess
every doctor is diff.

I found out I was preggy a week before I
even missed my period! I was having all
these symptoms and I thought I was a week
late so my mother bought me the test and
it showed up barely so we called a caring
place, free pregnancy test center that
gets you all set up with doc's and such.
We took another test and yep I was preggy.
Got to the doc the next 2 days. I was
only like 5 1/2 weeks. They just gave me
lots of info, and my next appt. I had my
ultrasound at like 6 weeks. They did the
vaginal one, wait I think they call it a
pelvic u/s. They seen the baby which the
pic is this tiny tiny little ball. Like
10 times smaller than a pea! Needless to
say they said she was to small to give me
the actual date and then I went back when
I was 10 1/2 weeks and they said I was due
july 25th. Yeah.

P.R.E.N.A.T.U.L. V.I.T.A.M.I.N.S!!!!!!!!!
Or call the doc and say dont I need the
prenatul vitamins like,. N.O.W? Good

Im 20 weeks and my doc still hasnt given
me prenatals, but the nurse asked me if I
was taking vitamins, and I told her I was
taking like calcium and folic acid, and a
one a day and shes like oh good... Well I
still dont have actuall prenatals...
.......If you dont get prenatals make sure
you are getting the calcium and all that
good crap that you need.... And
f.O.L.I.C. A.C.I.D! You need to start
taking vitamins a.S.A.P. If its gonna be
awhile to get to your doc...

April, thats weird how u didnt get
prenatals...I got a bag full of samples
and until I ran out of those I had to get
perscription(sp?) and they just gave me
those my first appointment(9 weeks preg.)
and a binder with alot of info in it

I had my first appt at 7 weeks and she
wrote me a referral to get a sonogram done
and I saw the heartbeat on the screen I
dont think that they gave me prenatals
until 12 or 13 wks tho

I called and moved my doctors appointment
up to tomorrow. I'm not ten weeks yet, so
they aren't going to do the u/s yet, but
i've been having this pain in my lower
abdomen. They are going to do anther pg
test and talk about the pain, and try to
pin down how far along I am. Wish me
luck!
