How old were you when you started your
first period? Do you remember where you
were, the date? etc???
I was 13 years old. I remember i stayed
home from school that day because I wasn't
feeling good. It was January 11, and I
was in grade 8. I was excited to start it
because I thought I was the only girl in
grade 8 who didn't have it yet. (boy, was
I a retard!!!!)

Oh boy, yes I remember. It was the summer
before 7th grade I believe I was 12 and we
were on vacation in Colorado. The first
day I started not feeling good and I was
getting dizzy and just felt icky
altogether. Then the next day we were in
the car for a while driving and when we
got out I just knew something was
wrong..So we got out of the car and my
shorts were like covered it was soo
horrible. It made it even worse because
in my family we just don't talk about
those things but being out on vacation
with no 'supplies' or anything of course I
had to tell my mom and I had to go change
and get cleaned up and we had to make a
special trip to find a walmart just so my
mom could buy my some pads ands tampons!

we don't talk about that stuff in my
family either. My mother made us feel soo
stupid. i vowed never to be like that, if
i had a girl. But, i have 2 boys, so the
period talk won't happen.

oh man I was the same way lol. I started
six days after you! well, January 17th
anyway and I was in 8th grade/13 at the
time too. I'm the youngest of 3 girls, and
all my sisters started when they were 12,
so I was a little late. I remember I wiped
and there was blood! I knew exactly what
it was (kinda hard not to having 3 women
in the house with one and continuously
talking about, lol). I screamed for my
sister, she rushed up the stairs and
*jokingly* said 'you started your
period?!* all I said was 'yup'. Her face
was priceless! then I went right to my
room and wrote it in my diary!

weird how we remember this stuff...
i was 11 and i was at my dad's office
after school. i went to the bathroom and
saw a little blood on my underwear. i
started panicking because i didn't have a
pad or anything, then i remembered there
was a woman who worked at my dad's office.
i went sneaking into her office and
whispered to her that i'd started my
period but didn't have any "supplies" and
she gave me a pad. then i told my mom when
i got home.

I started when I was 14 the summer before
9th grade.. I have older sisters so I told
them that morning and they gave me a pad
to wear..I remember I was volunteering at
the zoo at that time and we had to wear
khaki pants and I was really paranoid all
day long that it would leak, lol.

mine was odd, i started in 5th grade (cant
remember the exact date) and i was sitting
on the floor in SEX ED CLASS and i felt
really wet and gross so i went to the
bathroom and sure enough i was bleeding so
i went across the hall to the nurse and
she called my mum and i got to go home (it
was close to the end of the day) because i
had bleed straight through the clothes i
was wearing

I don't remember specifics.
I was 15, almost 16 when I started.
I feel bad for all the ladies that started
at like 10/11/12. That's a LONG time of
childhood having to worry about
pads/tampons/cramps.
I don't know WHAT I would have done if I
was 11 and started bleeding out of my
cooch! HA!
BUT, when I was like 13,14,15 and everyone
around me is getting boobs, pimples, and
periods, I wanted MINE. minus the
pimples.
I felt so old and ignorant when it came to
periods. I was PETRIFIED to put a tampon
in, hell I'd never had SEX! I didn't wanna
stick ANYTHING in there!
I got over that nonsense and tampons
changed my life! They were miracles!
I HAAATED pads...BARF!

I was 12 and, luckily, I was at home. I
just stole pads from my mom for a couple
of months until she noticed and asked me
if I'd started my period. By then I was
like, "Oh, my period? Yea, I started a
loooong time ago" lol. Funny thing is, now
I'm totally not afraid to talk to her
about that kind of stuff. Plus, I have a
little sis and she came to me when she
started, not my mom. I was scared to death
of tampons until I was 13. We were
supposed to be going to a water park and
af graced me with her presence that
morning. Needless to say, I got over my
fear really quickly!

I was 15 when I started mine, and I was at
home that day (i think it was over the
summer) and i went to the bathroom and
wiped and there was blood....my first
reaction was "ugh what do i do". I have an
older sister and a mom and was the latest
to start out of anyone in my family, so i
was much more shy about the whole
subject.
I knew where my sister kept her tampons so
i ran upstairs except there was only 2
left. Since I didnt know how to use them I
actually had to read the directions
(good thing they were in there). It took
me like an hour and BOTH of the tampons to
finally get it in right. haha
But now I would die without tampons...i
HATE pads ugh they feel like diapers and
its so gross...

It was July 5th. I was about to turn 13.
We had just woken up to go shopping for
school clothes. My boy cousin had slept
over the night before, so he was there and
my nanny (his mom) had just gotten to our
house. We were all going and I went to
the bathroom and when I wiped there was
blood and I started screaming and my mom
came in and I made her swear up and down
to never tell a soul!
I took a shower and ended up passing out
in the shower and hit my nose on the
faucet part.
Needless to say, we stayed home that day
and went shopping a few days later.
I didn't let her tell anyone, but she
eventually did and I was soooo
embarrassed!

Wow. I can't believe you remembered the
date. I was in the 8th grade - the very
last one out of everyone we knew. It was
HORRIBLE. I honestly could tell it was
coming a few days before it came.
I was the last at everything - a very
late bloomer.

I was either 11 or 12 and there was a big
party at my neighbors house. I wasn't
feeling good so I went home...My mom was
there and I went to the bathroom and there
must have been blood in the toilet because
my mom sat me down and gave me the talk
and showed me how to use pads and tampons,
etc. I had no idea that I started at all.
I never looked in the toilet to see it,
so I just didn't notice. I was a little
embarrassed, but it was cool cuz it was
like a secret between me and my mom.

awwww....that's alright...it happens to
the best of us. My dad sat me down and
told me that if he ever saw "any" evidence
of it in the bathroom that it was just
discusting, and gross, etc. It made me
feel soooooo stupid and bad, that now
nobody even knows I'm on my period and
when I'm not. I've learned to hide it
pretty well.

I was 12... it was the end of January, and
a Sunday (thank GOD I wasn't at school). I
felt wet but didn't really think anything
of it for a while. Then I went in my room
to change and voila! I told my mom right
away and she gave me a high five LOL.
