chances of infection and throat discomfort Posted: 02-24-08 00:51am
I am 32-year-old man. I visited to a
massage parlour 6 month back and I had
protected Oral and protected penetration
sex with parlour girl. The girl had few
red rashes on her abdominal area (below
her breast). I took care of all
preventions but that was my first visit to
any massage parlour so I made some mistake
and lick her nipple. I also took a cup of
tea in massage parlour. Can I get HIV from
the team that I had there. Also I had
mouth ulcer at that time. I am very upset
after that though I had no major illness
and any other sign but a month back I had
flu and sore throat with mild fever.
Everything is OK now but I still feel
uncomfort in my throat. I consulted with
doctor and went through the Thyroid test
but everything was normal except some
minor misbalance in T3 cells count
(slightly higher than normal range).
Doctor had given me Antibiotics and told
everything is normal but I am very upset
after this also I feel uncomfortable in my
genital area since last one-two week.
Should I go with HIV test? Are my symptoms
pertaining to early HIV? Please help me.

Get tested. When in doubt, always get
tested. It isn't very likely but since she
was a prostitute she probably has many
partners...you can NOT get it from
drinking tea even if the glass is dirty.
HIV does not live when air hits it. But
get tested for your own peace of mind. It
is EZ and usually free. Always talk open
and honest with your doctor so that they
can be aware of all risks.Good luck. Its
probably not HIV but it will ease your
mind to get tested and put that behind
you.

ib11, please put your mind to rest. You
had protected oral and protected vaginal
sex - that's a good thing. If the condom
remained intact, then the virus cannot
reach you. As for cups of tea, here I'm
afraid you really are looking into the
realms of nonsense.
Do test, it can do no harm. However, the
risk is totally negligable, and having
researched HIV for some yeares, I am
unaware of an oiffically documented case
of protected, condom intact infection.
One must never say 'no risk', and to do
so would be obtuse but again, protected
sex does actually work.
