News On My Dog...... Posted: 05-07-04 02:03am
Chloe died. A few hours after we got home
from the vet, she had a seizure type
thing. Then she just died. Pretty much
everyone was hysterical. That dog meant
so much to us. Even my friends chris and
falishia cried. Even larry teared up. I
feel better but i'm still really upset.
We have beenpumping my milk and giving it
to them in an eye dropper like the vet
said we could. It's gonna be hard but i'm
determined these pups will survive. I
even had to let the boys nurse off me
because they wouldn't eat from the
dropper. I know its weird but i'm gonna
do whatever it takes....
Well as you all know my dog had already
delivered one stillborn.....We took her to
a vet yesterday who was really nice and
worked out a payment plan with us......It
costed 1200 dollars. Well she had 4 more
pups, 1 was dead inside her. She
originally had 3 boys and 2 girls, but
onbly 2 boys and one girl are alive. The
girl is whisper because she wasn't doing
too well when she was born, and was real
quiet. The boys are toby and
clover.....Clover looks just like chloe.
Whisper is doing better but she's still
weak.
Thanks for the prayers.....At least the
pups are alright. Larry took chloe's body
to the vet this morning so he could figure
out what went wrong. It almost look like
she was having a seizure.....But I at
least got to be right there with her when
she died. I
will let you all know what happened soon,
but I will probably be on a lot less
because I have 4 babies to take care of
now. But anyone feel free to call me.

Oh no! I'm so sorry. I konw what you
mean about her meaning so much to you. I
have a seven year old german shepherd, who
is like my first child! I love her so
much, and I would go crazy if she was
gone! We are pulling for you.

Im so sorry to hear that chrissy! But you
should really try to get them to nurse of
the dropper cuz you can get something
called mastitis from lettin them nurse off
you, not to mention what the puppys could
transer to little josh... Bacteria,
viruses and worms... I totally understand
how you will do whatever you can to help
them puppies survive but is it worth
gettin josh sick? When me and my mom
first moved out to the farm, we found a
litter of kittens that were abandoned and
we had to feed them with droppers and we
didnt think any of them would survive, but
all 5 kittens survived and now one of them
is like my best friend... I have faith
that those puppies will survive, if they
wont drink of the dropper open their mouth
and stick it in, they just need to learn
thats where their food is gonna be coming
from, not a nipple...
I am truly sorry for what happened. You
are doing a really, really nice thing for
the pups! I am so sorry for your loss. I
know how much a pet can mean to someone.
Mine all mean a lot to me! Good luck with
the pups!
Love,
chanda

Thanks you guys....Lilmama2be I didnt know
you could get mastitus from pups.....I
made sure to clean my nipples with
peroxide to kill germs but we tried to
open their mouths and they just wouldn't
do it. Larry went to buy some special
doggy bottles.....They are tiny and 5
bucks a piece. They cost more than josh's
bottles! But it's well worth it. And
they are going to get some doggy formula
type thing so that I don't have to keep
feeding them. But thanks for the
sympathy. It's gonna be tough without her
but we'll make it. I will try and
post pics of the pups sometime soon.

Aww... Well I wish you the best.. Im
sorry about your dog. .But each little
pup carry's a big peice of her with them!
R u planning on keepin them? Or at least
one? I would wanna keep one at least..
And thats so sweet that u would let them
feed off u! I mean im sure its not
exactly dangerous.. But I really dont
know about breastfeeding dogs and a baby..
Because when they suck.. Any germs, from
the sucking motion could actually get
inside you ya know? I doubt their too
germy, but I mean , babys are sensitive.
.So I would try to get them to do anything
else if possible. Either way im so happy
the pups lived and im so sorry of ur
loss!!!
